Purveyors of some of the finest sherry cask matured whiskies that Scotland has to offer today, Dalmore have been producing excellent drams since their foundation in 1839, but the legend of The Dalmore goes back much, much further than that to 1263, when Colin of Kintail, Chief of the clan Mackenzie, saved King Alexander III of Scotland from a charging stag. As a reward the grateful King, granted Colin of Kintail the lands of Eilean Donan, the motto ‘Luceo Non Uro’, which translates to ‘I Shine, Not Burn’ and the right to use the 12-pointed Royal Stag as the Mackenzie clan crest, which is still proudly emblazoned on their bottles to this day.

Located in Alness, far up in the northern Highlands, the water used in The Dalmore is taken from the river Alness, lending incredibly well to their incredibly smooth distillery character.

For a prolonged period of time, The Dalmore’s output was limited to their 12 Year Old expression, but in recent years we have been blessed by a dramatic expansion to their range of offerings, including but certainly not limited to: their core range of 12, 15, 18 and 25 Year Old expressions, plus Non Age Statement bottlings like King Alexander III, Cigar Malt and their ever-growing selection of special releases!
